Big changes from Monday 1 September — say hello to the CB1
From Monday 1 September our GC1 becomes the CB1 — and it's getting a lot bigger. The route is being extended right through to Bluewater, and for the first time it runs all day, Monday to Saturday.
If you've been using the GC1 for your morning and evening journeys, everything you rely on is still there. There's just a lot more of it — and a brand new link into Bluewater via Knockhall Road.
The new CB1 route
The CB1 runs between Ebbsfleet International and Bluewater, serving:
- Ebbsfleet International
- Ebbsfleet
- Swanscombe Village
- Swanscombe Station
- Knockhall Road
- Bluewater Shopping Centre
It's a single, straightforward link across the Thameside area — connecting high-speed rail at Ebbsfleet, the Southeastern network at Swanscombe, the growing communities in between, and the shops, restaurants and cinema at Bluewater.
No booking. No app. No fuss. Turn up at the stop and pay the driver.
When it runs
The CB1 runs Monday to Saturday, all day — a big step up from the peak-only GC1.

Fares — just £2.20 to Bluewater
The CB1 keeps our simple flat fare, so you always know what you'll pay before you board.

That's £2.20 for an adult to go anywhere on the route — including the brand new journey into Bluewater. Great value for a connection that simply didn't exist before.

CrossBus Go2 — still here, still on demand
CrossBus is a hybrid service: the CB1 gives you the reliability of a timetable, and Go2 gives you the flexibility of an on-demand vehicle you book when you need it.
Go2 continues exactly as it is today, covering a wider area than the timetabled route:

What this means for GC1 passengers
- The route number changes. GC1 becomes CB1 from Monday 1 September. Look for CB1 on the front of the bus and on stop timetables.
- Your journey still runs. Everything the GC1 did, the CB1 does — and more.
- You can now travel all day. No more waiting for the peak-hour journeys.
- Saturdays are new. The CB1 runs hourly all day on Saturdays.
- Bluewater is new. The route now continues past Swanscombe via Knockhall Road into Bluewater.
- Fares are unchanged. Still £2.20 for an adult single.
